Pounamu is of great cultural significance for Māori and is believed to enhance mana (prestige) of its possessor. When received as a gift Pounamu is said to gain value as a special treasure.
The Koru is representative of a new fern leaf unfurling; symbolising new life, growth, strength and peace. It is a widely recognised symbol of New Zealand, a land of ferns.
Each piece of jewellery varies in exact size and colouration due to them being carved individually and each piece of stone is unique.
