This individual skein of 4 ply is a blend of 70% New Zealand Merino Wool, 30% and Mulberry Silk is one of a kind. This one is based on the rare Takahe, famous for being one of New Zealand native grassland birds.
Loris Ives from Dunedin hand dyes the wool to resemble the plumage of different native New Zealand birds under the name McAuslin. Each skein is dyed separately, so no two skeins will be the same.
Great to knit or crochet, sufficient to make into a scarf, shawl, babywear or socks! A wonderful gift to inspire Kiwis living overseas - light to send!
400 meters approx., yarn made in Wellington or Christchurch, depending on the blend.
